The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen following an internal promotion, for a Health & Safety Advisor to join us at KLM UK Engineering where Safety is our first value. Reporting directly into the Health & Safety Manager, the successful candidate will support delivery of the Health & Safety agenda for KLMUKE.

Profile

Key Task & Responsibilities will include:

  • Support the Health & Safety Manager in delivery of the health and safety plan
  • Providing Health & Safety support to the Department Managers, Project Mangers, Supervisors on a day-to-day basis
  • Provide Health & Safety advice to the Management team as required, including HSE guidance and best practice
  • Supporting the process of accident and incident reporting, ensuring that all incidents are correctly recorded, investigated and corrective actions are implemented.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of risk assessments and safe systems of work
  • Leading and facilitating Health & Safety improvement projects
  • Conducting Health & Safety audits
  • Delivering in-house short health and safety training sessions to employees


Due to the nature of the role, the position will need to be primarily site based

Job Requirements

The Successful Candidate

  • Experience of working within manual, high risk environments such as engineering, manufacturing, construction where there is a proactive, best in class safety culture
  • Strong competence in incident investigation and root cause analysis
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and experience of working with regulatory bodies.
  • Ability to share best practice safety behaviours with colleagues to positively change the safety culture of the business.
  • An aptitude for coaching and training team members in H&S matters
  • A strong, resilient and approachable persona, capable of working under own direction and delivering results.
  • Experience of working within a proactive safety culture or delivery of a behavioural safety programme
  • NEBOSH qualified (or equivalent) and member of IOSH would be advantageous.
  • Experience of Aviation Industry would be an advantageous although not essential

As a Non-Destructive Testing Supervisor, you will lead a small team of NDT Inspectors to provide an efficient and effective service to the department's internal and external customers. Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and performance management of NDT Inspectors and trainees.
  • Pre-planning, researching, paperwork processing, spares/tool ordering, completing and certification of NDT related tasks.
  • Monitoring quality, cost and overall performance of NDT tasks, taking appropriate action to address any non-performance.
  • Ensure company procedures followed and report any issues using the company reporting system.
  • Ensuring that all NDT related tasks are carried out safely and to the required Health & Safety standards.

The Role

We have an exciting permanent opportunity for an Application Analyst to join our IT & Innovation team. This role is based at our head office at Norwich Airport and is Monday – Friday, 37.5 hours per week. The main purpose of this role is to manage the Company’s applications and software to ensure that the company is getting the best value from these and users are effective in using them. The timing of the creation of this role coincides with the start of a project to replace the company’s central platform.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing application configuration and maintenance on core business systems.
  • Maintaining application monitoring, performance tuning and testing.
  • Ensuring there are robust procedures and processes within the application support function remit.
  • Monitoring progress of requests for support and ensures users and other interested parties are kept informed.
  • Providing 3rd-line Application Support on complex internally and externally developed applications.
  • Delivering support to existing business users and investigating and resolving application errors, data discrepancies and queries.
  • Interacting with internal teams and external 3rd party vendors to troubleshoot and resolve complex problems.

The Role

To support the Company’s continued growth following the opening of our new hangar, we have an exciting permanent opportunity for a B1 Licenced Aircraft Engineer. This role is based at our Norwich Airport Facility and will require leading a team of mechanics efficiently and safely in performing aircraft maintenance tasks in accordance with approved data whilst ensuring compliance with H&S and airworthiness standards.

These positions are permanent, full time working 38.5 hours per week, operating various shift patterns.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform aircraft Base Maintenance tasks as directed by the Supervisor or Project Manager in line with the aircraft maintenance data and Aircraft Project Plan.
  • Perform aircraft inspections, fault diagnosis, defect rectification, repairs, component replacement and functional testing etc.
  • Allocate Mechanic resource to ensure maintenance tasks are completed within budget and on time in line with contractual agreements.
  • Ensure timely identification of risks, swift escalation and solution to supervisor.
  • Lead by example, create and develop an effective and motivated team.

Human Factors, Fuel Tank safety training and EWIS training.

Good knowledge and understanding of CAA/EASA regulations and HSE legislation.

Work Experience

Work Experience

KLM UK Engineering Limited can offer limited work experience opportunities at our Norwich site.  Our work experience student placements take place from mid-May to mid-July and are reviewed on a case by case basis.  Places are not automatically guaranteed as your application will need to be reviewed fully and you will be contacted by the HR department to discuss this further.
