To provide pro-active recruitment support for the whole business and provide general administration support to the HR team as required. 

  • Drafting and placing internal and external job adverts
  • Tracking applications and completing first stage screening of all applications
  • Liaising with managers to identify shortlists and arranging interviews
  • Supporting managers with interviews as appropriate
  • Carrying out all necessary administration tasks involved with new starters including drawing up offer letters, contracts, reference checks and setting up personnel on HR system

  • Responding to requests from students and schools for work experience placements
  • Carrying out selection and interviews for work experience students where appropriate

  • Liaising with departments and managers to ensure a work experience programme is in place with the necessary levels of supervision
  • Administering all the new starter and work experience paperwork and tracking probationary reviews
  • Ensure compliance with HR policies and employment legislation




  • Previous experience of recruitment procedures and practices and ideally minimum 1 year experience in an HR or Recruitment role
  • Good level of administration experience and of working in a busy environment
  • Good level of IT literacy with sound working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and the ability to adapt to new systems and processes quickly
  • Ability to work independently and use initiative

With a brand new hangar opening in 2020 we are looking to recruit a Project Manager / Aircraft Check Manager to work in Norwich with the Base Maintenance team managing and lead a team of engineers to safely deliver base maintenance aircraft checks on time and within budget.


Roles & Responsibilities include:


  • Day to day leadership of and accountability for a team of approximately 30 Base Maintenance engineers.
  • People management and development.
  • Efficient allocation of labour/skills and checking financial performance.
  • Department health and safety, compliance, costs, service delivery and aircraft bay housekeeping.
  • Ensuring key events are accomplished per project plans.
  • Reviewing and arrange the Base labourvolume and skills required to meet the key events tasked by the planning team.
  • Managing on site customer representatives.

Essential skills and knowledge:


  • Knowledge and experience of working in EASA Part 145 regulated environment
  • Experience of aircraft heavy maintenance checks in a management capacity.
  • Proficient in managing customer expectations with effective and timely communication.

As an Aircraft Mechanic your main duties would be to: 

- Perform aircraft maintenance tasks as directed by a certifying licensed technician / supervisor and also ensure all work requiring a Certificate of Release to Service (CRS) is completed.
- Responsible for conducting a thorough verbal handover of any partially completed tasks, either being taken on or passed on. Ensuring all documentation is completed as far as possible.
- Comply with known and notified health and safety requirements, also ensuring that all facilities, tools and equipment are satisfactory for the tasks to be completed and that any defects are notified to the Certifying Technician, Supervisor or Project Manager.

Thoroughly pre-engineer, plan and schedule aircraft check requirements to allow the Base Maintenance team to work efficiently and deliver aircraft projects on time and to budget expectations. 

Pre-Engineering/Pre Input Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the contents of the scheduled workpack are technically accurate, thoroughly researched and all staging, tooling, spares, repair schemes or technical information identified is supplied/ordered prior to arrival of aircraft.
  • Detailed project plan created for maintenance inputs which identify key sequences, milestones and critical path tasks.
  • Chair pre-input meetings, produce minutes and ensure actions are achieved in a timely manner.
  • Produce effective and accurate Highlight Report and MPIDs for planned inputs.
  • Compile zonal highlight sheets.

On Check Responsibilities:

  • Continually review systems and procedures to improve aircraft downtimes, making recommendations to department managers.
  • Ensure Inspection phase plan is adhered to and risks mitigated in conjunction with the Project Manager by moving/uplifting resource to meet targets and minimise time pressures.
  • Ensure Project Plans are updated to accurately reflect on-check progress.
  • Manage time to ensure that sufficient time is spent on both current and future project.
  • Collate information to facilitate wash-up meeting post project completion.


  • Carry out any other reasonable task which may be directed, from time to time.
  • Accurate filing system maintained (electronically and hard copy) to aid easy retrieval.
  • Maintain central wash up data base by type and operator
  • Deputise for Project Manager as requested by department managers.


  • EASA Part 66 Licensed and at least 1 aircraft type approval (maintained by KLMUKE) or equivalent qualification.
  • Good understanding of EASA Part 145 regulations (in particular 145.A.47).
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a base maintenance.
  • Experience in Base Maintenance planning an advantage.
  • Commercial acumen.
